Educational Purpose
Sogang University Graduate School of Information & Technology was established to nurture talents with competence in global age through reeducation from professionals who are working in information and technology industrial sites. Sogang University has been leading the age by securing excellent faculties, strict and rational education management, practice supremacy of education and strives to raise information technology professionals with global competence.
Specialization of Education

Excellent faculties from Sogang University Department of Computer Engineering and Electronic Engineering and invited lecturers with practical experience and outstanding ability are teaching at Sogang University Graduate School of Information & Technology. Through development of strategic courses, open lectures that are suitable for recent trends and every year enforce development of textbooks along with the guidance of full-time faculties. Also along with strict education management of Sogang University, raise students’ participation for the lectures and create academic atmosphere with rational management of academic performances.

(3) English lectures by native speakers
Every semester open lecture called “English for IT Professionals” that educates English presentation skills and communication skills which are necessary as IT professionals from native speakers. This lecture enhances practical skills in English based on presentation and discussion related to IT related topics.

(4) Strengthen support services for student lectures
In order to ease the academic stress and inconvenience of time for students who are mainly office workers, record lectures that are opened and provide “online lecture service” to create inspiration for desire to learn and enhance academic atmosphere.

(5) Scholarship support
Every semester to over 40% of enrolled students, provide scholarships for academic excellence, scholarships for executives and scholarships for government officials and military (20% of enrollment fee).

(6) Open joint lecture with AhnLab business team - "Specialized Lecture on Information Security"
Every week, elite practical professionals from AhnLab are holding lectures as team teaching on topics to gain live information and confrontation strategies of all problems in practical fields such as information security, security trend, security plan and so on.

Build up close human resources network and opportunities to spend time to reeducate and recharge through enrolled students and alumni activities such as gatherings with alumni, homecoming day, night of information and technology and so on. Areas of Specialization
(1) Internet of Things
In Internet of Things major, to cope with rapidly changing digital technology and IT industry within knowledge information society, focuses on nurturing experts with more professional and systematic education on topics related to basic core technology and application technology which are daily developing advanced academic fields including information and technology (IT), internet protocol, network administration and ubiquitous which are related to next generation communication system, medium and large sized system and small-sized embedded system targeting system HW, SW and application system.

Recently with the increase of cyber security threat, Information Security major aims to nurture information security talents and provide systematic and professional education. This major consists of information security track which study on important concepts to protect various components that form computer system from impure offensive attacks, digital forensic track which study scientific collections and analytic techniques of digital information that are used for criminal investigation and financial security track which study advanced method to prevent and cope with information leakage and occurred damage related to intelligence assets specialized in financial areas.

In this major, in order to satisfy these situations, educate students with process enhancement technology, software examination technology, maintenance technology such as systematic software development technology, project management technology, CMM and so on with the purpose to educate high-qualified software engineers who are needed by the industry.
