A Blessing Mass Dedicated to the Beginning of the 2nd Semester of 2022
On Thursday, September 8 at 10:30 A.M., a blessing mass was dedicated to the beginning of the 2nd semester of 2022 in St. Ignatius Chapel.
The Campus Ministry Affairs of Sogang University dedicates a mass with its members to bless the beginning of each semester. Catholic universities dedicate the Mass of the Holy Spirit at the beginning of each year and ask for the grace of the Holy Spirit, which is the spirit of God's wisdom, to share the wisdom to explore and learn the truth. The mass is a festival of gratitude in the Sogang scholastic community, through which all professors, students, and staff members are able to gain strength and comfort.
During mass, Chairperson Woo Jae-myung introduced the speech made by former Jesuit Superior General Nicolas in Sogang University in 2014, in which Superior General Nicolas "emphasized the importance of cooperation among members in the Sogang community." Director Woo also emphasized the importance of the community's continued collaboration this semester.
"When people in a community bring their minds together, God will be there to strengthen them," said Director Woo. "Sogang University is bearing fruits both internally and externally thanks to the cooperation of Sogang members led by the leadership of the president and headquarters.
In the following General Intercessions, prayer was addressed to "the church, world peace, all people who were harmed by natural disasters, and the Sogang family who is beginning their 2nd semester of 2022." "I am grateful I can see students on the campus again for the first time since the outbreak of Covid-19," said Dean Kim Sang-yong of Campus Ministry Affairs. "I hope you will be interested in and participate in the events held in the 2nd semester by the Campus Ministry Affairs including the baptism class, the sacrament of confirmation, the doctrine class, and so on."
