Undergraduate Business School and Business School

Selected as Highest Honors Chapter of BGS (Beta Gamma Sigma) in 2022

The Sogang Business School undergraduate programs and Sogang Business School have been selected as the Highest Honors Chapter by Beta Gamma Sigma for 2022, which is the honor society of prestigious business schools around the world.

Established in 1913, BGS is the only academic-level honor-accreditation association recognized by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), which is the most prestigious and well-known international certification in the field of business administration. BGS is an international institution that approves business education programs from universities that have earned AACSB certification, and it currently has approximately 875,000 lifetime members in more than 190 countries.

After acquiring its AACSB certification in 2009, Sogang University established the “The Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter of Sogang University” in June 2010. Since then, the BGS Chapter of Sogang University has been selected as the Highest Honors Chapter in the world for eight consecutive years and has been recognized for its excellence since 2015. An average of 50 graduates per year are leading each field of the society, promoting Korean culture through cooperation with local honors chapters from different parts of the world. Currently, the BGS Chapter of the university has about 400 lifetime members, including undergraduate and graduate students, and 20 of the school’s 50 full-time business school professors are also registered as lifetime members.

“I’m very honored that this business school has continued to be selected as the Highest Honors Chapter of BGS for 2022,” said Jun Sung-youl, the dean of the Business School. “I’m committed to supporting the BGS Chapter of Sogang University to expand its horizons into student activities that embrace Korea and the entire Asian region."
