COVID-19 Case on Campus: Notice on Follow-up Measures

-Ricci Hall 8th Floor Temporary Closure-

On September 17 (FRI), 2021, a graduate student was confirmed positive on campus, from Ricci Hall. The COVID-19 Committee has decided to take the follow-up measures as below.

1. Building Closure

As the confirmed patient’s lab is located on the 8th floor in Ricci Hall (R Hall), the Committee has made the decision to temporarily close down R Hall from 3PM September 17th, Friday to 3PM September 18th, Saturday. We kindly ask for your cooperation despite inconvenience this temporary closure may cause.

2. Contact Tracing / COVID-19 Test Recommended

Below are the places where the patient had visited. It is highly recommended for those who have visited these locations to receive PCR test. The Committee has already asked the students of the lab to take their PCR tests. Also, aside from the Health Center’s instruction, the students were asked to keep their personal hygiene complying with the two-week quarantine manual and access the lab after being confirmed negative according to their test result after two weeks. For those who also have visited these places, it is highly recommended to receive PCR test.

3. When experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, please restrain from accessing to campus until confirmed negative through a PCR test.

Recently we have a few cases where some members enter campus although they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, or even after they have PCR tests due to these symptoms. We kindly ask all members of Sogang to enter campus after confirming the test result when you experience the symptoms of COVID-19. Also, please enter campus after submitting the self-check survey through self-check system as below prior to entering our campus.

Furthermore, we would like to inform you that thorough sterilization has been completed for the places the patient had been. It is also possible that the building closure could be extended according to additional COVID-19 confirmed cases to be found or other reasons. We kindly ask for your cooperation in order to contain the spread of COVID-19 on campus.
