Startup Fair 2020
Startup Fair 2020 is held from October 7 through November 13, hosted by eight Seoul-based universities, including Sogang University, and 13 organs, including the Seoul Regional SMEs and Startups Office and Korea Techno-Venture Foundation.
Startup Fair 2020, now in its sixth edition, is a venue for meeting and matching startup companies in search of employees and youth in need of jobs. From these meetings, it is hoped to foster job creation, and, through promotion of excellent startups, to promote positive perspectives on jobs and startups for university students. With the participation of 63 startup companies, the fair will serve as a venue of opportunity for job seekers who might otherwise feel the doors to employment have been barred shut due to COVID-19, providing them the chance to exert their competence as fully as they wish.
From October 7 through 31, job seekers can check the list of participant startup companies, employment details for different positions, and various positions posted on the fair's official homepage. They can then apply by submitting their applications, and those who pass the first round of screening are given 1:1 online interviews, to be held from November 9 through 13.
On November 11 (Wednesday), content related to startup employment will be livestreamed via the homepage. Main programs include 'Commenting on Employment,' where startup professionals offer advice and answer job seekers' questions, and 'Startup Mock Interviews' featuring famed Youtubers. Interested applicants can submit their applications through the Startup Fair 2020 homepage.
Sogang Business School Professor Hong Cheol Ki, Director of Sogang Business Center, said, "I hope this startup fair will serve as a venue of opportunity for excellent talents and startup companies to meet and fulfill their dreams. With employment in a downfall because of COVID-19, this fair may serve as a useful foothold for job seekers and startup companies to overcome difficulties in talent employment."
