Sogang Exchange Fair Held for Student Exchanges in 2nd Semester of 2023

- The first fair held in three years, with about 280 people forming a warm atmosphere made up of inbound exchange students and Sogang University students -

On Wednesday, November 16, the Sogang Exchange Fair for student exchanges in the 2nd Semester of 2023 was hosted in the lobby of Gonzaga Plaza. This event was held to offer information and a place to chat about the universities that students hope to attend as exchange students. A total of 80 students managed the booths, including the inbound exchange students from 47 overseas universities that have joint academic exchange agreements in 14 countries and Sogang students who have already finished studying at overseas universities with such joint academic exchange agreements.

The fair drew much attention because it was the first such event in three years (since 2019) due to COVID-19. More than 200 Sogang students spent their time visiting the fair and checking out the booths of the countries or universities they were most interested in, getting the chance to ask about local life and study experiences.

In advance of the fair, the Office of International Affairs posted a video of the 'Presentation for Exchange Students in the 2nd Semester of 2023' on the Office of International Affairs YouTube channel in order to improve the understanding of participating students. The office also gave a small gift to the students who enthusiastically participated in the event, demonstrated through their visits to more than three university booths throughout the day.

“We hope this fair will give students a chance to gather a variety of information about the countries and universities they wish to be sent to and to interact and socialize with inbound exchange students who are studying at Sogang University,” said an Office of International Affairs official who had been part of the event’s organization.

The notice for selecting students for the 2nd semester of 2023 will be posted on the Office of International Affairs website on Wednesday, November 23. The application period for the exchange student program is from 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, and the final selection results will be announced on Thursday, January 19, 2023.
