Signboard-Hanging Ceremony Held in Recognition of Selection for LINC 3.0 Project

 

- Expected to serve as a spur toward achieving the goal of “Transforming into a leading university in new industries by improving business-development platforms based on industry-academia-research cooperation,” which is one of top seven goals of Sogang VISION 2030 -






At 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 15, Sogang University held a signboard-hanging ceremony on the first floor of the Administration Building to celebrate the occasion of being selected as a university to carry out a demand-oriented business-growth project for the Phase 3 Leaders in Industry-University Cooperation 3.0 (hereinafter LINC 3.0).


President Sim Jong-hyeok delivered words of encouragement, saying, “Being selected as a university to undertake the LINC 3.0 project is an accomplishment that will nudge Sogang University ever closer to achieving its goal of ‘Transforming into a leading university in new industries by improving business-development platforms based on industry-academia-research cooperation,’ which is one of the top seven goals of Sogang VISION 2030.” He then added, “Needless to say, this is one of the most joyous moments in my life, personally, and I expect that participation in the LINC 3.0 project will enhance the pride of Sogang members.”


Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs Song Tai-kyong, acting as the LINC project leader, said, “The LINC 3.0 project will provide Sogang students with new opportunities and will lay a foundation for Sogang University to achieve financial independence.” He emphasized, “I intend to prioritize the LINC 3.0 project at the university level, offering full-fledged support for project implementation.”

Selected as a university to carry out a demand-oriented business-growth project of LINC 3.0 in April 2022, Sogang University now plans to boost its efforts to cultivate future-oriented talents and reinforce sharing and collaboration systems, particularly in new industries and new technologies. By doing so, it will focus on building an innovative ecosystem for sustainable industry-academia-research cooperation. The university will plan and operate programs specialized for each center with a particular focus on four key goals: 1) Pioneering technology commercialization and fostering startups in new state-of-the-art business areas; 2) Establishing a future-oriented state-of-the-art convergence-research ecosystem; 3) Nurturing key interdisciplinary talents to pioneer future industries; and 4) Establishing an ecosystem for fostering a cooperative and symbiotic relationship in industry, academia, and research.earch.
