Wins the 2021 Korea Talent Award

Kang Ye-eun, a student enrolled in the Department of International Korean Studies at Sogang University, won the ‘2021 Korea Talent Award (Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Education Award)’ on Tuesday, December 28. The award ceremony was held at the Sejong Convention Center and was hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Scholarship Foundation.

The ‘Korea Talent Award’ is Korea’s flagship talent-selection and recognition program to discover national talents in individuals with the potential to contribute to community development, and it has been implemented for the past 20 years as an initiative to create new values via creativity and passion.

Kang Ye-eun, as the representative of the university consulting firm My UNI, provided briefing sessions and training for practitioners at Seoul Support Center for Out of School Teens all across the country. At no cost to users, she provided quality information through lectures and automated conversion programs for GED scores, greatly contributing to resolving issues of inequality in the Korean education system.

In particular, Kang Ye-eun was selected as the representative of Seoul City and attended the offline award ceremony open only to regional representatives. In addition, Kang spoke out on the need to define educational alienation and support during the award ceremony sessions and conversations with former award winners.

“I think the joy of winning this award is amplified because I was able to achieve my wish to help the educationally underprivileged across the country, which was a goal stated in my acceptance speech for the 2019 Minister of Gender Equality and Family Award,” said Kang. She added, “I will continue to do my best to improve the education system in Korea.”
