Inaugurated as 44th Chairman of the Korea International Economic Association

 



 



Professor Song E Young of the School of Economics was inaugurated as the 44th chairman of the Korea International Economic Association, beginning his one-year term on December 23, 2020.

 

Founded in 1977, the Korea International Economic Association (KIEA) is a representative academic society in Korea's economic sector, boasting over 1,500 regular members, including university professors in economics and doctorate degree holders in public and private research institutes, companies, and government bodies. The association publishes a quarterly journal, International Economic Journal, in Korean and English editions, covering topics across all fields of economics, and engages in active exchanges through seminars held by the Japan Society of International Economics.

 

On February 5, the KIEA held an online joint academic conference with the Korean Economic Association from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. on 'The Tasks for the Korean Economy for the Post-COVID-19 Era.' Professor Kim Yun Jung of the School of Economics, who serves as the administrative deputy manager of the KIEA, chaired all of the sessions for the conference. During Session Two's Special Forum on 'The New Paradigm for the National Ruling System,' Professor Park Jungsoo of the School of Economics joined in the discussion.
