Passes 2020 Open Competitive Examination for Grade 5

with Top Score in Electrical Jobs

Kim Ji-na, a 2014 alumnus from the Department of Electronic Engineering, passed the 2020 Open Competitive Examination for Grade 5, finishing at the top for Electrical Jobs.

The Ministry of Personnel Management announced the 335 names of successful candidates for this examination on the Cyber Examination Center homepage (https://www.gosi.kr) on December 29, 2020. For this year's examination, 264 of the total 6,968 applicants for Administrative Jobs and 71 of the total 1,436 applicants for Technical Jobs succeeded in moving on to the final round of examination. From Sogang, 11 passed: nine for Administrative Jobs and two for Technical Jobs.

For Kim Ji-na, who finished in the top spot for electrical serial connection among Technical Jobs (attaining an average score of 85.61), she credited her success to the resilience retained through sustained efforts in preparation and finding appreciation in everything. "I think I've succeeded thanks to the positive mind I maintained through prayer and support from the people around me. Seeing my friends pass the exam or go on to start their careers while I was still preparing for the exam, I felt envious of their success and was also scared by the uncertainty of the future. However, through it all, I tried to remember that there are always things to be thankful for, regardless of the situation."

She also added, "I chose to take on the challenge of this exam in order to become someone capable of positively influencing others in a public profession. In the end, I owe my success to the good influence of others. From here, I will strive to repay the generosity I've encountered as I go on to work as a public servant."
