Purchasing public mask for international students

 

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Korea, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety allowed foreigners (including international students) who have been staying in Korea but were unable to purchase public masks as they were not covered by the National Health Insurance Service to purchase public masks as follows.

 

- Effective Date: 0:00 p.m. on April 20, 2020.


- For whom: Foreigners who have registered as foreigners, such as international students (※ Non-subscribers of national health insurance can also purchase the mask.)


- How to purchase: Once a week, two masks per person (available date depends on one's year of birth, called five-part system) a five-part system based on the year of birth, for example, if you were born in 1996, you can buy the mask on Monday.

* Monday - the last digit of the year of the birth is 1 or 6 , Tuesday - 2 or 7 , Wednesday- 3 or 8 , Thursday - 4 or 9 , Friday - 5 or 0


- Required documents: Foreign registration card, permanent residence card, or resident registration card


- Place of Purchase: Pharmacy, Nonghyup Hanaro Mart (Excluding Seoul and Gyeonggi-do), Post Office (Daegu, Cheongdo and Eup/Myeon)
