Guidance for Online Remote Learning in the 2020 spring semester
(Leave of absence, lab experiment courses, final exams)

1. The number of leave of absence

Sogang University has decided not to include the leave of absence of 2020 spring semester into the limit number of taking leave of absence. However, this is not apply to the students who are unable to take a leave of absence according to the Sogang University regulations. (freshman and transfer students, readmitted students in 2020 spring semester, students who received the dismissal warning last semester, and students whose maximum number of leave of absence has exceeded)

2. Operation of the lab experiment courses

As announced before, it has decided that the lab experiment courses which need to experiment practice are allowed off-line classes for three weeks from June 8 to June 26 (Intensive Experiment Sessions).

However, it cannot be forced students to take class who cannot attend off-line classes due to the personal circumstances, and depends on the situation of the each class, School of Engineering and the School of Natural Sciences provide on-line experiment practice class for the students who cannot attend off-line classes. Professors also have been guided that when evaluate grade of this semester, it is not allowed to discriminate against students who take experiment practice on off-line and those who take on-line.

3. Dormitory use during the Intensive Experiment Sessions

Students who attend a three weeks intensive Experiment Sessions are allowed to live in the dormitory during this period (from June 8 to June 26). The student will have to pay for the dormitory fee for 3 weeks.

4. Final exam administrated by online

Sogang University has decided to take the final exam by online in this semester. Students cannot be forced to take off-line tests in any circumstance, professors also have been encouraged to develop test or assignment for ensuring fairness.

（休学，实验实践课程，期末考试）

1.休学次数

学校决定仅限2020年第1学期休学的学生本次休学不包括在允许休学次数内. 但根据学校校规不能休学的学生不适用此项规定。（不能休学的学生：2020年新生，插班生，再入学的学生及上学期收到开除警告的学生）

2.实验实践类课程授课方式

根据学校此前通知，需要进行实验实践的课程将于6月8日~6月26日在学校进行为期3周的面对面线下课程。但是不强制由于个人原因无法参加的学生进行面对面线下课程，并将根据各专业的情况提供实验实践课程的网课，计算成绩时也将向有实验实践课程的教授或讲师发送参加实验实践课程的学生及通过网络参与实验实践课程的学生成绩无差别计算的通知。

3.实践实验课程期间宿舍使用

参加为期3周集中实验实践课程的学生在此期间可以申请入住学校宿舍，但3周的宿舍费用则将由学生本人自己承担。

4.网上进行期末考试

学校决定本学期的期末考试也通过网上进行。由于无论如何也没有办法强制学生们进行面对面线下考试，所以本学期期末考试将拜托教授通过可以确保成绩评价公平性的考试题目或者通过提交作业报告书的形式代替考试。
