2021 University Front-Gate Banner Message Contest
‘From Sogang, to Sogang’ Award Ceremony

At 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021, the 2021 Award Ceremony for the University Front-Gate Banner Message Contest ‘From Sogang, to Sogang’ was held in the conference room on the fourth floor of the main building.

‘From Sogang, to Sogang’ is a project in which all Sogang family members, including students, alumni, university staff, and parents of students, all come together to share their hopes for the Sogang community. For this, they can write out one-line messages to be submitted for selection. This project began in May 2021 and has been established as a way for the Sogang family to brighten the start of each day.

The award ceremony was attended by Vice President for Public Affairs Jeong Ok-hyun, first- award winner Kim Yeon-jun (Interdisciplinary Programs, East Asian Studies, ’21), fourth award winner Park Jong-min (Media & Entertainment, ’19), and sixth award winner Choi Keun-ou (Social Studies/Visual Storytelling, ’10), with small souvenirs along with award certificates given out to the winners.

Kim Yeon-jun said in the contest message, “Sogang is always by your side, even if we can’t meet right now,” expressing that Sogang is offering protection for each of us in our respective positions under its banner, even in non-face-to-face life. Additionally, Park Jong-min said in the contest message, “Let there be a wonderful day for Sogang in the moment between autumn and winter,” expressing the bright future of Sogang community members, even as the seasons change. Lastly, Choi Keun-ou said in the contest message, “Keep going, Sogang, and always remember,” complete with a photo of a classroom to express hope for a classroom full of students once again.
