Sogang Business School,

Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter Recognized as Highest Honors Chapter in 2021

The Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) Chapter of Sogang Business School was recognized as a Highest Honors Chapter in 2021.

BGS is an honor society of high-achieving undergraduate and graduate students in outstanding business schools around the world accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the most prestigious and representative international accreditation in the field of business education. It boasts over 875,000 lifetime members from 190 countries. Including Sogang Business School, about 840 universities have obtained AACSB accreditation, which accounts for only 5% of the world’s business schools. Sogang Business School was accredited in 2009 and successfully extended the accreditation again this year.

The BGS Chapter of Sogang Business School has been recognized since 2015 for its continuous activities and has been named a Highest Honors Chapter for seven consecutive years. As a benefit, Sogang students participate in the Global Leader Summit, a global leadership conference hosted by the BGS Global Headquarters, with a sponsored participation fee of about $500. About 400 lifetime members, including undergraduate and graduate students, are active in the Sogang BGS Chapter, and 20 out of 50 full-time professors at Sogang Business School are enrolled as lifetime members of BGS. Executives of the student Chapter (co-chairs: Hwang Ji-woon and Lee Ji-soo) are conducting activities for the current 20th membership year.

Dean Jun Sung-youl of the Business School said, “We are very proud that our business school was again recognized as a Highest Honors Chapter of BGS.” He added, “We will give generous support to the Sogang University BGS Chapter to expand its horizons through student activities that converge not only in Korea but throughout Asia, even in the era of COVID-19.”
