Sogang Business Center Selected as Best Institution by the 2021 Business Incubator Management Evaluation

- Sogang Business Center has been certified as the best institution since its establishment in 1999 as it has grown into a mecca for start-ups. SBC has discovered 250 start-ups, including Smilegate Co., Ltd.-

Sogang Business Center, the university's start-up support group, was selected as the best institution (S grade) in the 2021 Business Incubator Management Evaluation conducted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

The Business Incubator Management Evaluation reviews the previous year's performance and results of over 260 Business Incubators designated by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups every year via quantitative (40 points) and qualitative indicators (60 points). Sogang Business Center received high scores for the professionalism of its dedicated personnel, operational infrastructure, support programs for tenant companies, and linkages with start-up related organizations, and was ranked number 1 in Seoul.

Sogang Business Center has been recognized as an excellent organization for 20 years since its opening in 1999, and has discovered and supported 250 startups including Smilegate Co., Ltd. In recent years, the center has been expanding business incubation and education through the establishment of vice president positions at the Sogang Initiative Group of Entrepreneurship and reorganization of the Business Incubator. It was also awarded for the “2021 Enhancement of Outstanding BI Capabilities,” which supports startup-related services such as investment attraction and mentoring to more than 60 centers nationwide. In the future, the center plans to discover and support excellent entrepreneurs through various start-up support programs run by Sogang University, such as the support for the operation of start-up training centers, Seoul Campus Town 2 stage unit-type campus town support project, and the university innovation support project.

Director Hong Cheol Ki of Sogang Business Center, said, "We have achieved excellent results in the Business Incubator Management Evaluation, and we will continue to actively transfer start-up related know-how and technology to increase the competency of start-ups in the school and foster excellent companies."
