At the '2021 D.Day Campus League' held on Sunday, November 7, our start-up teams, Peace of Mood (CEO: Park Yu-jin, Chemistry ‘13) and VHP (CEO: VITTORIA, Art & Technology ‘19), won the grand prize (Financial Services Commission Chairman's Award) and the Excellence Award (K-Growth Award) respectively.

The D.Day Campus League is a competition co-hosted by the Banks Foundation for Young Entrepreneurs (hereafter D.CAMP), as well as institutions such as the Financial Services Commission, Korea Credit Guarantee Fund together with Sogang University, Yonsei University, Ewha Womans University, and Hongik University. It was held to spread the entrepreneurial culture within the universities and graduate schools by early discovery of start-up founders among faculty and staff founders or preliminary start-up teams. A total of 299 teams applied, with nine teams that passed a 33:1 competition advancing to the final. Through a rigorous screening process by 7 industry experts the final 4 teams were awarded prizes. The winning team will be given an opportunity for an investment review of up to KRW 100 million and a total of KRW 10 million in prize money, including the top priority to move into Seolleung D.CAMP and Mapo Frontone.

'Peace of Mood' is a student start-up team jointly created by students of Sogang University and other universities located in Sinchon, and it provides a service to IT planners, developers, and designers a variety of side project choices through ‘NUMBLE,’ a project-based ‘challenge’ community, for the purpose of self-development, employment, growth, and start-up. It received good reviews and won the grand prize.

Park Yu-jin, CEO of Peace of Mood, explained, “We planned the NUMBLE service to create a community where IT projects that are not only difficult to carry out alone, but also difficult to recruit team members for, can be achieved through self-learning, competing and accumulating results without additional training. We will host a variety of Challenge programs for IT practitioners to use throughout their work life in a series of professional activities, ranging from employment to career changes, side jobs, and business start-ups.”

VHP, which received the Excellence Award, is a startup team composed of five female students majoring in Art & Technology at Sogang and has produced an interactive virtual SNS influencer through storytelling with a difference. Vittoria Ventura, the CEO of VHP, garnered recognition as a Brazilian foreign scholarship student invited by the Korean government.

CEO Vittoria said, “Establishing a company is a challenge, but with the help of good programs such as this competition, I can develop the company. It was a great chance to interact with co-workers who are not only undergraduate students but also entrepreneurs. With your continuous support, VHP will surely make Sogang University proud.”
