Research Details

The research aims to develop a hybrid framework for analysis and design application of multiple flow phenomena. Basic techniques are being developed for multi-phenomena flow analyses which include multi-physics, multi-dynamics, and multi-scale problems. Application of the developed multi-phenomena CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) techniques are carried out as an industry-academia cooperation model to the fields of emerging technologies like bio-, nano-, space-, energy and environment.

Research Details

The Priority Research Institute has investigated to control of the cellular damages with discovering the cellular damage control network and unveiling their working mechanisms. In the next stage (2015-2018), the Institute will attempt to commercialize materials or targets controlling cell damages, and to develop novel kits or systems to monitor cellular damage, for which cooperative research efforts will be exerted with external educational and industry organizations.

Research Details

Development of technology that optimizes photoconversion reaction by separating chromatophore membrane vesicles (CMVs) from each applicable photosynthetic bacteria, which are anoxygenic and oxygenic. Innovative and efficient conversion of light into chemical energy by increasing the density of CMVs and capturing light in broad wavelength through the combination of CMVs, which absorb light with either long or short wavelengths. Assembly of CMVs with appropriate dark reaction path in nano chip (Photosynthesis in Nano Chip, PiNC), which is either an artificial cycle to fix CO2, or short metabolic steps to produce high-value pharmaceutical compounds.
