Sogang University-Hyundai Mobis Agreement to Collaborate Signed

for SW Talent-Fostering Program

A ceremony for the Sogang University-Hyundai Mobis Agreement to Collaborate for the SW Talent-Fostering Program was held on Wednesday, July 8 at the President's reception hall. The ceremony was attended by Sogang President Park Jong Gou, Chief of Research & Business Development Foundation Oh Kyung Whan, Head of Budget & Planning Affairs Lee Jong Jin, Dean of the School of Engineering Jeon Doyoung, Executive Director of Hyundai Mobis Jang Jae Ho, and Director of Hyundai Mobis Park Tae Jung, and Director of Hyundai NGV Kang Seong Won.

 

The Sogang University-Hyundai Mobis Agreement is meant to support students with backgrounds in software education as they apply for master's programs at Sogang, providing scholarships and research funds with the aim of fostering professional human resources in software for future technology fields. The program will select students to support their education for one term per year from 2021 to 2024, totaling three terms, with a maximum fund of KRW 750 million in scholarships and operating fees.

 

The program will be run around the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the Department of Electronic Engineering, expanding to include excellent students in other departments that show exceptional talents in the field of 'control.' Based on positive results from first-term operation, cooperation is expected to expand in terms of its range in depth and width.

 

Jeon Doyoung, Dean of the School of Engineering, said, "I hope this program will soon be in smooth operation and can be helpful to mutual parties while continuing to stabilize operations for the Contract-based Department."
