Notice on expanding special quarantine procedure applied countries for COVID-19 and Self-Quarantine Instructions


1. Special quarantine procedures applied countries and effective date

China (Feb 4th~), Hong Kong/ Macau (Feb 12th~), Japan (Mar 9th~), Italia/Iran (Mar 12th~), France/Germany/Spain/the United Kingdom/the Netherlands (Mar 15th~), All country in Europe (Mar 16th~), All the countries (Mar 19th~)


According to the announcement from Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Education, special quarantine procedures will be applied to all countries from March 19, 2020. All students entering Korea through special quarantine procedure, are allowed to come to Sogang campus after finishing 14 days of self-quarantine from the arrival date to Korea. 


2. Further Coronavirus (COVID-19) Guidance

All students entering South Korea through the special quarantine procedure, including those who travel to South Korea through those countries, are allowed to come to campus when showing no symptoms after 14 days of self-quarantine from the arrival date to South Korea.

② When contact with people who have symptoms of coronavirus, students can come to campus when showing no symptoms after the self-quarantine period.

③ If you have symptoms of coronavirus (fever, cough, etc.,) within 14days after the arrival, please report to KCDC (Korea Centers for Disease control and Prevention) at 1339 and inform your status to OIA.


3. Entry survey and self-quarantine monitoring survey

① All international students who enter South Korea from the special quarantine procedures applied countries or come through those countries will be asked to respond to calls from OIA via phone call and social media for us to monitor if you have any symptoms of coronavirus (fever, cough and sore throat, etc.) and self-quarantine status. Please be cooperative with the survey.

② These students should respond to the survey calls from monitoring assistant after checking your health status twice a day (10AM and 4PM), and are also asked to input your status on self-monitoring mobile application.

③ If you do not respond to the survey for more than 2 days, you will be given a penalty such as non-permission to our campus.

④ If you have any symptoms such as fever and cough, etc., contact OIA or the monitoring assistant immediately.  


4. Self-quarantine and Instructions on installing mobile self-monitoring application

① All students who enter South Korea from the special quarantine procedures applied countries or come through those countries need to quarantine themselves for 14 days.

② These students MUST install mobile self-monitoring application through the link below and input your health status for 14 days after the arrival at least once a day and check if you have any symptoms of coronavirus.

5. Self-quarantine Guidance

① Those who need to quarantine themselves are only allowed to come to campus after the 14 days of self-quarantine from the arrival date to South Korea with showing no symptoms of coronavirus and should following the instructions below.

② Please note that these students will not be allowed to come to campus and use public facilities on campus such as cafeteria and library during the quarantine period.


△ Living in an independent space

   ※ living with others is unavoidable, wearing a mask and maintaining a distance more than 2 meter is essential. Washing tools, clothing, bedding are for personal use only.

△ Minimize contact with others by eating alone, and washing clothes separately.

△ Comply with personal hygiene recommendations (washing hands, sanitizing, wearing masks etc.)

△ When go out inevitably, make sure to wear mask and Minimize your movements.
