Educational Purpose

Sogang Business School (SBS) undergraduate program was established in year 1963 with the foundation of advanced education system from overseas and based on the Jesuit traditions of Roman Catholic, which put emphasis on the education of whole people. And SBS holds differentiated capability to nurture business administrative talents with international vision and senses. Based on these capabilities, SBS undergraduate program pursues core educational ideas of GLEE (Globalization, Leadership, Excellence and Ethics) and has been building up differentiated educational program. Also along with cooperative relations with 32 Jesuit universities from overseas, claims to support the principles of ‘sustainable ethical management’.

Specialization of Education

As the importance of corporates with social responsibility are standing out, ethical management has taken its part as one of global standards. Sogang University was established on the basis of catholic beliefs and educational ideals of Society of Jesus so its environment blends in well with ethical management. For that reason, students are highly recommended to complete such liberal arts courses including humanity, religion, ethics and history. SBS undergraduate students should have the ability to make decisions effectively in corporations. In order to do this, students are required to be familiarized with mathematical approach by completing mathematics, statistics and economics courses to gather necessary information for decision making. By utilizing these studies, makes it possible for students to establish effective management strategy. Including university mathematics, students are required to complete economics and statistics courses, with this, they are able to gain logical and analytical ability.
