regulatory mechanism of regulatory T cell
Sogang University department of natural sciences professor Lee Gab-yeol research team have investigated the role of transcription factor YY1 that regulates the functions of regulatory T cell. This research result has been published in Nature Communications magazine on February 19, 2016 (Article title: YY1 inhibits differentiation and function of regulatory T cells by blocking Foxp3 expression and activity).
Regulatory T cell has functions to control damage of our body by controlling excessive immune response, so it is immune cell to control disease such as anticyclic citrullinated peptide antibody, allergy, inflammation disease, cancer and so on. Regulatory T cell has not yet been revealed on how the molecular type has been controlled.
By using various molecular biological method and animal model, as professor team of Lee Gab-yeol has been controlling revelation of Foxp3 and transcriptional control ability, determined the function of YY and revealed the function of regulatory T. This research can be applied in various immunization disease treatment method.
