Department of Mass Communication professor Yoo Hyun-jae, raised splendid achievement by receiving an award from ‘2015 Korea Health Communication Association-Enzaim Academic Award’, which is jointly awarded by Korea Health Communication Association and Enzaim Health, a healthcom specialized company (www.enzaim.co.kr).
In order to arouse academic interest and discussion towards Health Communication in Korea, Korea Health Communication Association and Enzaim Health have been selecting outstanding articles and give out academic awards to those articles published in <Health Communication Research> throughout the year.
In the article of professor Yoo Hyun-jae, also the executive director at Sogang University Health Communication Center, “College Students’ Self-Concepts and Attitude toward Advertising; The Relationships among the Body-Esteem, Social Comparison, and the Perception about Diet Advertising”, as the university students form their attitude towards diet advertising, studied about the roles of ‘body esteem’ which are the concepts and visions of their own body and ‘propensity comparison of individuals’ to form certain attitude. The relevant article is evaluated to provide implications in order to consider psychological mechanism regarding anorexia and cosmetic surgery addiction which is a trend amongst the young generations.
On the other hand, the award ceremony was held in academic conference of Korean Health Communication Association organized by Seoul National University Graduate School of Public Health on December 4.
