Kim Yeong Woo, a student at Sogang Law School, Receives ‘2019 Talent Award of Korea’
Kim Yeong Woo, a student at Sogang Law School, was selected to receive the ‘2019 Talent Award of Korea.’
This year marks the 19th anniversary of the Talent Award of Korea. The award was established to discover creative and convergence talent for the future and talent who contributed to the development of the community, in order to help them grow as the main pillars of Korea. The award is hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity every year. One hundred people in total, 50 high school students and 50 university students and other young people, are selected for the award. Seven awardees were selected in the division for university students and other young people in Seoul.
Kim Yeong Woo, a Sogang Law School student, aspires to become a lawyer specialized in startups. He was selected for his potential as a lawyer based on his undergraduate major of business administration, economics, and administration. As an undergraduate student, he received more than 30 awards from competitions for technology and startup, including the grand prize from the Super Challenge Hackathon, where students from nine universities competed, and an award from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy.
He said, “I will do my best at Sogang Law School, an institution that nurtures Korea’s top-tier specialists in corporate law and financial law. I also want to grow as a lawyer who can help the issues that startups have, such as regulations, investment, and exit.”
