Kim Yong Jeong, a Ph.D. student of the Department of Global Service Management, Graduate School of Business Administration (Advisor Ha Byoung Chun), received the Best Paper Award at the International Forum of Business Convergence (IFBC) 2020 held by Korea Science Distribution Association at Eulji Human Resources Development Center in Yang Yang, Gangwon Province on January 6 (Monday) and 7 (Tuesday).

The Korea Distribution Science Association publishes the largest number of papers (more than 300 papers per year) and the maximum number of copies (12,000 copies per year) among social science journals, and holds two SCOPUS-registered journals including the Journal of Distribution Science. In this year's seventh opening of IFBC, editor conferences and academic conferences were held together for 12 domestic and international journals. Papers were contested with two themes: 'globalization of academic papers and research ethics (editing session)' and 'management economy and convergence (general session)'.

Kim Yong Jeong, the Ph.D. student who received the best paper award at the contest, diagnosed the operation efficiency of the container terminal with a progressive expansion project underway at Busan’s new port, a national logistics infrastructure, and conducted a comparative analysis with the competitive ports of other countries. The Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) research method was employed, which is useful for analyzing efficiency and productivity.
