Sogang University Signs MOU with Asan Medical Center for Research Exchange
- Expected Synergy through Joint Implementation of Research and Programs -
The College of Engineering of Sogang University (president: Jong Gou Park) and Asan Institute for Life Sciences of Asan Medical Center (president & CEO: Lee Sang-do) signed an MOU for research exchange at the main building of the university on September 3, 2019. The signing ceremony was attended by president Jong Gou Park and dean Doyoung Jeon of the College of Engineering of Sogang University, as well as chairman Chong Jai Kim and director Yoo Sook Cho of the Office for Scientific Planning & Coordination of Asan Institute for Life Sciences.
The two entities aim to achieve synergy through research collaboration with the MOU. Both parties agreed to close cooperation in implementing cooperative research in the field of medical appliances and biotechnology, exchange of research manpower, sharing of equipment and facilities, execution of joint study and education programs, and other research and development.
Dean Doyoung Jeon of the College of Engineering of Sogang University said, “We both expect that this MOU will create great synergies in research and education through continuous research cooperation in the field of medical appliances and biotechnology, a promising future source of national income, and joint academic symposiums.”
Chairman Chong Jai Kim of Asan Institute for Life Sciences said, “We are seeking a long-term cooperative model to carry out various biotechnological convergence R&D projects and foster field experts. This will be achieved by fully utilizing Asan Medical Center’s medical and life science technology research infrastructure and Sogang University’s engineering and natural science technologies and commercialization experience.”
