Kim Yeong-ju and Hong Seung-beom, doctoral course students in the Psychology Department under the direction of Prof. Na Jin-kyeong, received the best and participation awards, respectively, from the Doctoral Colloquium of the Korean Psychological Association on February 13, 2019. Doctoral Colloquium, an annual event held by the Korean Psychological Association, collects excellent papers of doctoral course students in the entire field of psychology. Through the 1st evaluation (paperwork) and the 2nd evaluation (presentation on research), the best, excellent, and participation awardees are selected.
Kim Yeong-ju received the best award for the paper “the Olympic Paradox: The Olympics and Intergroup Biases,” a paper on the negative impact of the Olympics on the out-group bias, and Hong Seung-beom received the participation award for the paper “the cultural gap on the recognition and use of Facebook: the implication of the cultural gap in the use of Facebook,” a paper on the influence of Facebook in the psychological gap between cultures.
