Technology for Multi-functional Nano Sensor to Detect Toxic Ingredients Developed
Kang Tae-wook of the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department, in collaboration with a team of professors at University of Pennsylvania, succeeded in developing a technology that quickly detects various chemical materials by attaching a metal nano sensor. The research results were published in the February 27 edition of Nano Letters, an international journal.
The nano sensor developed by the team enables the convenient identification of counterfeit money and drug tests. In terms of speed and sensitivity, the sensor exceeds the performance of the existing technology of detecting molecules.
This study was sponsored by the basic research project and C1 Gas Refinery project of the National Research Foundation, the Ministry of Science and ICT, and the Ministry of Education.
