Oh Deok-geun (a doctoral student in Computer Engineering under the guidance of Professor Kim Ju-ho) won the Best Paper Award in Electronic Design Automation at the International Conference on Computer Design (ICCD) 2018, held in the United States on October 8.
Hosted by the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), the ICCD is the world’s leading academic conference in computer design, covering computer architecture, verification and testing, design tools and methodologies, circuit designs, and technology.
Titled “Thermal-aware 3D Symmetrical Buffered Clock Tree Synthesis,” the paper proposed a clock tree synthesis that considers the effects of heat in a 3D circuit as a way to provide efficient improvements to circuit performance undermined by 3D circuit heat.
