On October 11, Sogang Exchange Fair for Exchange Students Fall Semester 2019 was held in the hallway between Geppert-Nam Duck Woo Hall and Kim Daegon Hall to provide information on destination universities for students who plan to study abroad. The event, which held booths with 78 students from 32 partner universities, served as an opportunity for exchange between inbound exchange students and Sogang students. Participants listened to the inbound exchange students and Sogang students who had participated in the exchange program to study abroad.

Kang Seongmin, an international program officer in the Office of International Affairs, said, “The exchange fair helps Sogang students meet exchange students from their destination school,” and added, “I hope many students participate in the event and gain great advice and lessons from others’ experiences.”

Annika, a representative from Heidelberg University, said, “I was delighted to introduce my university to Sogang students who are interested in Heidelberg University,” and added, “this is an experience that I would have never had in my university in Germany.” Guillaume, a representative from HEC Montreal University of Canada, said, “I feel a bit sad that the fair is held when most students take classes,” and added, “I hope the booths will be run for a longer time so that more students could get advice on the exchange program.”

Kim Seonghwan (Economics ‘14), who visited the fair that day, said, “I’m going overseas for the exchange program next semester and I was happy to hear from the students from my destination university,” and added, “it was an invaluable chance for me to get realistic, detailed advice on the dorm, students club, and campus life, the information that’s not available on the school website.”

The application for the exchange students for fall semester 2019 is open from December 31 to January 7, and the selected students will be announced on January 21.
