2018 Sogang Alumni Homecoming Meeting
for an In-depth Look into the Past and Present of Sogang
to Seek Out for the Future Direction

At 6: 30PM on April 17, Tuesday, the 2018 Sogang Alumni Homecoming Meeting was held at reception hall, on the 9th floor of Matthew Hall.
At the venue, Chairman of Foundation Park Moon-soo, President Park Jong Gou, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Kim Kyun, Executive Vice President for Research and External Affairs Seo Jung Yun, Vice President for Public Affairs Kang Sun-kyung, Sogang faculty, and more than 100 alumni, with Lee Sang-woong, the Chairman of the Sogang Alumni Association.
This event was held to look back upon the memories, share the present, and seek for the positive future direction of Sogang.

The meeting was launched by the opening remarks from Vice President for Public Affairs Kang Sun-kyung, followed by greetings of President, Chairman of Foundation, and Chairman of the Sogang Alumni Association, presentations on Sogang at present, current progress on Namyangju campus project, Q&A, and dinner ceremony.
President Park Jong Gou said that “Sogang University, now celebrating its 60th anniversary is no longer a young school.” He added that “therefore, all of us should seek to achieve its centennial anniversary, and further attempt to recover the spirit of community and the value of holistic education.”
Then, Lee Sang-woong, the Chairman of the Sogang Alumni Association, responded in his greetings that “First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to my alma mater on organizing today’s event,” and he added that “I hope that this venue will serve as an opportunity for alumni and school to cooperate and to communicate with each other to seek out for the future direction of Sogang.”
Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Kim Kyun presented on the projects that Sogang is currently implementing and the vision of the school, then, Executive Vice President for Research and External Affairs Seo Jung Yun reported on the outcome of the Namyangju campus construction project to alumni.

Then, the Q&A session was held to allow the attendees to discuss on the future development plan of the school. Based on the ideas of alumni, the Sogang faculty expressed the opinion that there will be another venue for in-depth discussion on the future direction of the school.

The event was culminated with the graceful dinner for all attendees of the meeting.

Through the event arranged as a time for communication, the alumni could understand the current status of Sogang, and the school could hear various ideas and recommendations from the alumni. Sogang would like to express the deepest appreciation to the alumni who ceaselessly show affection and pride for Sogang, and we hope that they will continue to support for the advancement of the school by providing feedback and by expressing passion for school.
