Sogang University Students Win Grand Prize at 23rd National Model UN Conference-KOREA
Lee Hyeon (Political Science major) and Yu Sang-hyeon (Psychology major) won the Grand Prize at the 23rd National Model UN Conference-Korea. The National Model UN Conference-Korea was initiated in 1995, marking the 50th anniversary of the United Nations, and it serves as a model international conference event. Representing the largest event for university students in Korea in terms of scale, it is hosted by the UN Association of the Republic of Korea and is sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Lee Hyeon and Yu Sang-hyeon, the event’s big winners, participated as delegates from Brazil under the theme of "the role of the UN for implementing sustainable development." The award winners will be given the opportunity to visit the UN conference held at the UN headquarters in New York or the UN office in Geneva this November, along with an award conferred by the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Yu Sang-hyeon said, "My experiences with the Sogang University branch of the United Nations Students Association (UNSA) and the Sogang Model UN Conference in January helped me a lot.” Lee Hyeon said, "It is an honor to promote the presence of Sogang University at this venue for university students from all over the country.”
