held international forum to discuss on ethical management of Korea
Sogang Sustainable Business Ethics Research Institute held a forum about business ethics vitalization and business ethics education in universities for two days on September 22nd and 23rd.
On 22nd ‘The 3rd Sogang-Deloitte International Business Ethics Forum’ for constructing transparent business management society and spreading business ethics with Deloitte Anjin LLC, on 23rd ‘The 3rd Sogang University & Korean Academic Society of Business Administration Business Ethics International Forum’ was held.
With the aim to spread and practice the importance of business ethics, Sogang Sustainable Business Ethics Research Institute was established in 2013 and by inviting international and domestic scholars, this institute has been carrying out this forum every year since 2014. This year invited chair professor Ann Tenbrunsel from Notre Dame University who is an expert in behavioral ethics.
On 22nd, from the forum with the topic ‘Ethical management, What are we missing?’, which was held by Professor Tenbrunsel said, “Humans are not as ethical as they think they are” and added regarding the anti-bribery and graft act, which was enforced since September 28, “This anti-bribery and graft act can prevent power abuse of vested rights, however, once this act is not carried out properly, this can rather worsen the situation” and emphasized that the enforcement should be done properly.
Business Ethics International Forum which was held on 23rd was carried out presentation with the topic on “recent trend of behavioral ethics”. Continued on with the previous day, after listening to the lecture from Professor Tenbrunsel, spent time to freely ask and answer questions with Professor Cho Bong-soon from Sogang University.
